How to Play

Are you a fantasy football stud? Do you think you know which running back is going to have the MONSTER game?

Running Back Rampage is a free fantasy football sports game where each week you pick a running back that you think will rush for 100 yards or more. If you get it right, then you are on a streak and will need to pick a different player the next week to rush for 100 yards or more. How many weeks can you keep your streak alive? The longer your streak, the more points you will receive.

General Details
  • Each Week you will be able to pick a player from a list of all the active running backs in the league
  • Try to pick a player you think will rush for 100 yards or more from the line of scrimmage
  • Only rushing yards count, there is no bonus for touchdowns
  • If your player does not rush for 100 yards or more, you will receive zero points for the week
  • If your player does rush for 100 yards or more, then you will receive one point for each yard rushed that week, and you will start a 100 yard streak
  • You cannot use a running back twice in the same streak
  • While you are on a streak, you will receive 10 additional bonus points each time you continue to select a 100 yard rusher
    • 2 game streak = +10 bonus points for that week
    • 3 game streak = +20 bonus points for that week
    • 4 game streak = +30 bonus points for that week...
  • When your running back doesn't reach 100 yards you will be able to select from all running backs again for the next week entry
  • If your streak ends, your team will retain your total points
  • This is not an elimination game, you can keep playing until the final week of the regular season

Features

Here are some features to help you make your picks. First, users will notice a chart icon Chart Icon next to each players name. Clicking this icon will open a chart in a new window that displays the player's yardage totals for the season. For players with data from previous years you will also be able to view historic data by selecting the year from a select box.

The OPRK (Opponent Rank) column on the pick screen displays the defensive rank against the run for the team this running back is playing against. High numbers, 22-32 appear colored green, and depict a team that is in the bottom third of the league defending against the run. You want to play against teams that have poor defense against the run. Teams with a red number 1-10, mean that the running back is going up against a team that is very good against the run. You may want to consider picking a player from a different team for this week. Use these numbers as a guide in your decision making. The rankings will be updated after each week. Week 1 will have an estimated rank against the run.

Adrian Peterson ChartUsers may notice a trending column on the player page. The trending is based off the players last 3 games. Players that have rushed for 100 yards or more in 2 or 3 of their last 3 games are considered to be trending upwards, indicated by an upward green arrow Green Arrow Up. Players that have not rushed for 100 yards in any of their last 3 games are considered to be trending downwards, indicated by a downward red arrow Down Arrow Red. The trending stats are indicated by the number of 100 yard weeks followed by the number of weeks examined. So a player that rushes for 100 yards in 2 of the last 3 weeks will appear as 2:3.

Have you ever wondered what running back everyone else has chosen, but find it a real hassle to have to click on each team to view their entry? Well now you don't have to. Simply navigate to the leader board page and select the "Detailed View". The detailed view will display each players picks for the week. If the player rushed for 100 yards, their name will appear green, and red if they failed to reach the century mark. Selections for the current week will appear locked until after their game starts. Teams that did not make a selection will be listed as "No Pick".

The running back research page provides statistical details to help you see who is gaining the most yards each week. Look for information on the following:

  • 100 yard games
  • Best Rushing Average
  • Best Single Game Totals
  • Total Yards this Season

Team data can be toggled to display yards per week for each player on the selected team. On the player statistics page, you can view the rushing yards for selected players by game, average, total number of 100 yard games, and a chart displaying their yardage for the year.
